My WFB intro to the game is long overdue. Ok so looking at the GW site, do I just need Isle of Blood rulebook or the hard back for: all magic items, all spells and of course all the rules?
I grabbed the Chaos army list and loaded up on what I fancy playing and painting. First army list looks like Lord on demon mount, 10 knights, 3 Skull crushers, 1 Chimera, 2x16 Warriors with Shields, 10 Hounds & some sorcerer I guess. (Hellcannon, forskaen, 30 marauders to remain boxed)
Does this sound fairly sensible for a new player list? Only initial thoughts was I probably want warriors with Halberds for 1 Unit of core or maybe two x 16-24. I own 48 warriors I think and looking forward to painting them Just a little help here might save me assembling the wrong weapon choices.
All suggestions welcome.

You can't go wrong with a daemon prince
but things you Can consider:
• just the isle of blood rulebook (magic items can easy only be going online)
• a model to be your BSB (this is very important!)
• splitting the dogs into 2 x 5 would be nice I think
. Sorcerer on demonic discs are very popular
• knights could be ran as 2 x5 units
. 16 is a random number for the warriors... maybe 15 or even 20. Keeping 5-6 frontage will be best probably
. Halberds are popular, so are warriors with shields marked with tzeench so you get a 3+ 5++ party
. Crushers should probably have ensorcelled weaponss
• 2400 points is the normal amount to Play s game ie lord: 600 max, core 600 min, special 1200 max, 600 special.
Anything more specific just ask. I would be happy to help,
Hope any of the helps,!!!

Just to add this has all worked out nicely.
Added a sexy demon prince and found chariots waaaay better than warriors. With a little wiggle and the campaign love I have this force almost finished now.
Zak was Right about the bsb. I still find they are a crutch for rolls, but with the volume of key leadership rolls they are a no brainer.
Today we are in 8th ed. I do need to improve my movement trays but the rumours are true that WFB is playable on round bases! Otherwise all good
