Suddenly my impulse buying of a tonne of fortifications for my imperial fists 5 years ago seems to of paid off big time :)

So how far is this going to change the Meta of the game? Superheavies in normal games should be nearly as big a shift as flyers arriving in 6th.

Looking forward to seeing what building combinations will be available under 1 slot in the new stronghold book

I find it a little dubious that they will now be adding superheavies  to 'standard games', although it'll be only 2500 games where you can really start using them.

The superheavies suck in general, the variety just isn't there unless ur guard guard get loads of baneblades, marines get a thawk (av12), nids get harridan, eldars get revenant titans, orks stompa tau get tigershark,
But the stronghold book looks awesomesauce! Loads of new fort rules, scenarios where the force org is altered so increases variety,
Expect to see some ridiculously long aegis lines!

I'm very interested in Escalation, looking forward to using my scratch-built tesseract vault a load more.

some FOCs allow the attacker an extra 2 forts (total 3)  but the attacker can take additional heavy support choice... not a big change, but fear the IG bombardment.... :s

So to anyone who has either or both, will you be using them routinely? And do they interact with each other (meaning can I take a superheavy AND a fortification in the same list)?

yes you can, Lord of war pops up on force org chart same as a fortification (i.e. greyed out optional). this means you could take 2 super heavies and 2 sets of fortifications in a 2000point game.....

Is D weaponry still in?

Because if so, a single revenent titan will be essentially an autowin; those 4 templates of D is 2 units dead a turn.

Yes D weapons are still there. I agree that the eldar titan is the least balanced in the book, backed up by GW Ger when I went into the shop to talk about it. Presumably the only balancing factor is having D weapons too, but I didn't expect a statement about D weapons and their effect on breaking the game from you Will ;P

basically if you play someone with the eldar titan you need a lot of lascannons spread out around your army in infantry squads.

Or a unit that can deep strike multiple meltaguns or equivalent very close to it.
