Does anyone do any games from the antiquity era (e.g. Roman, Celts, Dacian, Greeks etc.)? I want to get into it and am doing some research at the moment, but still undecided.

I would get into it if a couple others did, obviously after I finished my Bolt Action. What rules/size are you looking at?

28mm war and conquest look good, using victrix or warlord games figures. I've planned a 1000pt ithican army, 65 figures including hero, commander, three core units, skirmishers and shield decals for less than £50, aim to start collecting mid summer

Looking at the War and Conquest army lists I think I may start a Late Republic Roman or a Dacian army. Depends which is more important, this or getting my FoW Germans ready for September!

I'm looking to have a small, 750pt force by late aug. If anyone else wants to start at this level we can test out among each other without too much time/money away from core games/campaigns

what rules are you playing?

I still have an ancient Han dynasty crew that was going to be for warhammer ancients, can I use them for whatever you have planned?

I've done the research online and I like the War and Conquest rules, and they have had good reviews from wargames websites.

Me and jamie are about to start playing SAGA... bought a starter army each at salute.

http://www.grippingbeast.com/s.....CatID=2396 (crap websight but the game is good)

28mm dark ages skirmish... though they will be doing early medevil in the future. Maybe a bit light on the wargaming side...but its a very well thought of game. We played a starter game at salute and really liked it - you can start with a basic warband but increase it from there.

i have bought vikings, jamie has bought Jomsvikings

Come and have a look.

Also heard good things about DBA, especially the size you can do it with.

This is how small a maxed out DBA army is, it tends to use abstraction if I remember correctly so 1 unit is something like 30 soldiers.
